Produced by SynGate Records and presented the 9th October at the E-Live Festival in Oirschot (Netherland), Illumina Tenebras is a Butoh Dance Performance created and performed Live by Alessandro Pintus and Gabriele Quirici (Perceptual Defence) in the incredible Place called "La Scarzuola" in Montegabbione (Italy) the 22nd June of 2013 (in this Place we did another Performance called Divinae Delitiae two Years before).
La Scarzuola is a surreal Construction projected by Tomaso Buzzi, architect, artist and man of culture among the most important in the 20th century. It arises in Montegiove, in the municipality of Montegabbione (Tr). It is built adjacent to a convent of the ‘200 (1218) founded by St. Francis (you can find more informations on this site:
www.scarzuola.net/english.htm).
Thanks to Marco Solari we had the Chance to create and perform a special Performance about St. Francis's Life and especially the discovery of light, and therefore Faith.
Alessandro decided to Name this Performance Illumina Tenebras in latin starting from a Pray that St. Francis did in front of the Cross of St. Damian.
"Altissimo glorioso Dio,
illumina le tenebre
dello core mio.
et damme fede dritta
speranza certa
e caritade perfecta
senno e cognoscimento, Signore
che faccia lo tuo Santo e verace comandamento, Amen"
The music reflects the two Phases: the dark Phase and the Light Phase divided by the Pray (the Voice you hear is from Alessandro Pintus).
Concept, Direction & Dance: Alessandro Pintus
Live Music: Perceptual Defence
The second Track "Tur Vinum" is the Performance we did at Sasso Pinzuto Necropolis, Tuscania (Italy) the 6th July 2013 and it is a Butoh Dance Performance about the ancient ritual of the Symposium.
Concept & Direction: Alessandro Pintus
Dance by the Non Company Performers
Live Music: Perceptual Defence
Perceptual Defence plays: Synthesizers, Electronics, Grooveboxes, Natural Sounds, Etruscan Instuments Samplings (on Tur Vinum)
In Illumina Tenebras some Improvisation Sounds were made by my two daughters Raffaella and Irene. The Laugh at the End of Illumina Tenebras is from Irene (1 Year Old).
